25 Random Facts About Me
This is from a Facebook chain-letter "tag." Since I haven't posted anything on this blog in a while, I thought I'd copy and paste it here...
1. When I was 5 years old my grandparents lost sight of me at a crowded parade. They looked for me for hours. When they got home, they found me already there. I had walked some 10 blocks home by myself.
2. I was born left-handed, but my Catholic school teachers made me re-learn to write with my right hand. Today I can't do much with my left hand. I feel this is why I am a slow typist and was never able to learn how to play any musical instruments no matter how hard I tried.
(Also, my dad, mom, and youngest sister Monica are left-handed)...
3. I am a survivor of L.A.U.S.D.'s year-round-schools B-track, which in my opinion really mess up students' learning habits.
4. I adore my niece and nephew so much! They have only been in my life for 5 and 3 years but they are the most important people to me. (Mom and sisters come a close 3rd...)
5. I know more about film history than many filmmaker or "industry" friends I have.
6. In the '90s I was one of those obnoxious, elitist people who never watched television...
7. When non-native French speakers speak, I can understand almost everything they are saying. I have a hard time, however, understanding the French.
8. I hate Los Angeles Magazine!!!
9. Vancouver, Quito, and Paris are my three favorite cities in the world.
10. I am a very forgiving person, and only hope that my friends are equally forgiving...
11. In the last few month, I have had some nights when I have trouble sleeping...
12. I like going to work when I am sick, and saving my sick days for leisure...
13. Everyone knows I have 2 sisters. But I also have 6 half-siblings (that I know of).
14. It takes me a whole day to clean my house, but I know that other could do that work in 3 hours!
15. Ariel Carmona Jr. has been my friend since 1984.
16. I still communicate with my 9th grade English teacher.
17. I used to write poetry and was once an avid journal-keeper.
18. I am not comfortable talking about myself...
19. Lately, I have come to realize that I need more positive, optimistic people in my life. I get really impatient with negativity.
20. I absolutely love water!!! Swim in it, bathe in it, drink it!!!
21. I walk a lot, yet I don't wear a hat. I know I should, but I have a big head.
22. I love roasted and rotisserie chicken!!!
23. In the last 5 years, I have become more confident around the kitchen. I cook almost every day.
24. I hope to travel in the next 5 years across Colombia. It is the next Cuba or Peru, in my opinion!
25. I talk to my mother everyday.
